731
Synopsis
In 1945, a civilian imprisoned in Unit 731’s secret lab must lead his fellow prisoners in a desperate bid to escape the horrors of human experimentation.
731 is a war drama inspired by one of the darkest and least-known chapters of the Second World War: Japanese Unit 731 conducted biological and chemical experiments on human subjects in occupied China during the 1940s.
Set entirely within the sterile confines of the military compound, the film adopts a theatrical style that heightens the contrast between clinical order and unspeakable cruelty.
